MUSIC & DRAMA
Montessori Music Classes are offered to pre-school to 6th grade students. Pre-K classes present a musical program to parents during the winter and at the end of the school year.
Students in grade 4-6 (Upper Elementary) learn recorder from beginning to advanced levels and perform during the annual Music Fair, Recorder and Elementary Choral Concert and Instrument Fair presented in the spring. Students who are interested also may join the MSM Chorus.
Drama Classes are offered to students in 1-6th grade. The lower elementary students present a musical at the MSM Annual Graduation and Spring Performance. The 2008 Production is a Folk Talk "The Empty Pot " to be performed in May.
The Upper Elementary Students perform an adaptation of a W.S. Shakespeare Play at the Folger Theatre in Washington D.C. during the annual Folger Theatre Children's Festival in May, and at the MSM Annual Spring Performance. The 2008 Production is "As You Like It " performed in May at the Folger Theatre and during the MSM Annual Graduation and Spring Performance.
FINE ARTS
Art Classes are offered to Kindergarden to 6th grade students. Student-created art is displayed year round in the school and also during the Annual Art Show in the spring. Elementary students participate in field trips to DC area art collections and in MSM arts shows posted throughout the school.
